Customer Care Training for Banks in Nepal

Service skills for counters, call desks and branch teams.

Why service training matters here

In a bank, service is the product. Customers arrive with money on their minds, often worried or in a hurry, and judge the whole institution by a few minutes at a counter or on a call. Two branches with identical products can feel completely different depending on how staff greet, explain and resolve.

Aradhana Shrestha has delivered customer care and communication training for Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Lumbini Bikas Bank, Premier Insurance, Ashutosh Brokerage & Securities, and iPay, among other financial organisations. Sessions are adjusted for the pressures of the sector: queues, procedures that customers do not understand, and conversations that involve money.

What bank customers notice

  • The first ten secondsEye contact, greeting and whether the customer feels expected or interrupting.
  • Explanations without jargonProcedures, charges and documents explained in terms customers can act on.
  • WaitingHow delays and queues are handled and communicated, and what staff say when something is slow.
  • Mistakes and complaintsWhether the customer feels heard and sees the problem fixed, or gets sent to another desk.
  • ConsistencyThe same standard in every branch and on every shift, not only when the manager is watching.

What the training covers for financial teams

  • Counter and desk etiquette, including greeting, listening and closing the conversation properly
  • Telephone and relationship-officer communication
  • Handling complaints and angry customers without escalating
  • Saying no to a request and keeping the relationship
  • Working with colleagues so customers are not passed around
  • Professional image, grooming and body language

This is the banks & finance version of the customer care excellence program, which also covers complaint handling, telephone service and consistent standards in detail.

Common questions

Do you train branch staff and head-office teams together?

Both are possible. Separate sessions tend to work better because their customers and pressures differ: branch teams focus on counter and phone service, while head-office and relationship teams focus on written communication, complaint escalation and consistency.

Can you run the program across several branches?

Yes. The same program can be delivered branch by branch, or groups from several branches can attend one session, so standards are aligned.

Is the training only for tellers?

No. It also suits relationship officers, customer service desks, call handling staff, supervisors and branch managers who coach them.

How do we get a proposal?

Send your sector, number of participants, locations and any recent service challenges by WhatsApp or email. You will get a proposal for the format and duration.
